What is the stake premium?
The highest bidder during the ascending-bid phase is called the “inzetter”. If the auction is “mined” during the descending-bid phase and awarded, the inzetter receives a stake premium. This premium is usually 1% of the highest bid in the ascending-bid phase.
For foreclosure auctions of homes, the stake premium is usually paid by the client or seller of the auction.
For voluntary auctions, the stake premium may be payable by either the buyer or the seller. To avoid surprises, we make this clear in advance. Always read the special auction conditions and the cost overview carefully before participating.
